Welcome to Day 1 of PixelMill’s ’12 Days of SharePoint’ series! Hang on to your keyboards because we have some great tips to share, starting with a classic tip that spans through the ages…of SharePoint. Enjoy!
Tag Your Presents! (I mean…Content)
We have known this since the early days of SharePoint 2007, but it continues to be one of the most important aspects of any successful SharePoint implementation. Users of SharePoint expect a robust search experience, although SharePoint Search is not a magical black box that just works. Crud in…crud out. SharePoint also provides stellar rollup capabilities that work best based on Search. The SharePoint search crawler and indexer does not magically know what your content is and how it could be utilized. Tagging content and configuring search settings are necessary for your end users to find what they are looking for.
